Pour Point Depressants & Viscosity Index Improvers

Controlling viscosity is a key factor in lubricant performance. LUMAR offers a wide range of pour point depressants (PPD) and viscosity index improvers (VII) designed to optimize oil behavior under temperature variations.

Description

PPDs prevent wax crystal formation at low temperatures in both industrial lubricants and automotive oils. They are recommended to maintain lubricant fluidity in cold conditions and to lower the pour point in many applications such as industrial gear oils or automotive transmission fluids.

Viscosity index improvers (VII) are designed to reduce viscosity changes as temperature increases, ensuring consistent and reliable lubrication. Depending on shear stability and performance requirements, several technologies are available (OCP, PMA, styrene-butadiene …).

LUMAR provides technical solutions adapted to all types of formulations, including vegetable oils, food-grade lubricants and applications exposed to high thermal stress.

Among pour point depressants and viscosity index improvers, we offer:

  • Polyalkyl methacrylates
  • Olefin copolymers
  • Polyisobutylenes
  • PPDs for vegetable oils
  • PPDs for food-grade lubricants
  • Styrene-butadiene polymers
  • VI improvers for vegetable oils
  • VI improvers for food-grade lubricants
