Chemical Specialties
LUMAR offers an extensive range of chemical specialties designed to enhance the performance, reliability and durability of your industrial formulations.
Description
Each additive has been carefully selected to meet specific uses and precise technical requirements:
- Friction modifiers: polar molecules added to lubricants to minimize light surface contacts (sliding and rolling) that may occur within a machine. By improving slip, they reduce friction and wear while enabling energy savings.
- Anti-foam agents: used to reduce foam formation in a mixture, as foam can hinder proper homogenization of the formula’s ingredients and therefore decrease performance. Anti-foam agents also promote degassing by preventing interference between the liquid and gas (often air), which can disrupt the action of the formulation.
- Siloxane and silicone polymers, as well as silicone oils: provide lubrication, stable viscosity and thermal resistance.
- Standard and specialty amines: used in metalworking fluid formulations and water treatment. Amines act as neutralizers, detergents or corrosion inhibitors. LUMAR offers a very broad range of specialty amines meeting all technical requirements. Our expertise in amines is recognized across the European market.
- Solid lubricants (graphite, MoS₂, boron nitride, PTFE): reduce friction between two contacting surfaces when liquid lubricants cannot fulfil the role. They are especially used for high-temperature lubrication where liquid or oily lubricants fail. Solid lubricants are often required in highly oxidizing environments.
- Bismuth-based products: an innovative alternative to traditional additives, combining anti-wear performance with reduced environmental impact.
The range of chemical specialties presented here is not exhaustive. Please feel free to contact us for specific requirements. LUMAR will do everything possible to help you develop optimized formulations – across any field of industrial formulation (coatings, varnishes, detergents, lubrication, etc.) – tailored to your technical challenges, within an approach that combines technical expertise, sustainability and social responsibility.
